Nexus Connect / Perpetual futures
Perpetual futures, on Nexus Connect.
Perps are the fastest-growing market a prop firm can offer and the one most firms bolt on through a second vendor, a second account record and a second set of rules. Nexus runs them where everything else already runs: a perps account is an ordinary Nexus Connect account with a different asset class, so your CRM, risk engine, payout workflow, fraud review and support all see it without new tooling.
Perps are a Nexus Connect product, and only that: they run on Nexus Connect accounts and the Nexus simulated execution engine, never on Rithmic, Ironbeam or Volumetrica accounts. Traders trade them in the same two interfaces as futures, Nexus Trader and Onyx, on a dedicated perpetual market-data feed that is acquired separately from CME data and never mixed with it. The product is 24/7, the trading day is the UTC day, and every program rule is plan configuration rather than code.

What a perps program gets
The parts of perpetual trading that make it different, built in rather than approximated.
Trader-chosen leverage
The trader picks leverage per market, up to the cap your plan sets for that market and the venue ceiling. Above the cap an order is refused and explained, never silently clamped.
Cross margin
Only new exposure needs initial margin. Closing or reducing a position is always admitted, so a trader is never trapped in a position by a margin check.
Mark-price liquidation
Liquidation is judged on the mark price, not the last print, with the liquidation level visible to the trader and to your operators before it is reached.
Funding, applied
Funding payments are applied on the venue's schedule, recorded per account, and count toward drawdown and target the way your plan says they should.
24/7, on the UTC day
Perps trade around the clock, so the daily close, daily loss limit and day-level statistics run on the UTC day rather than the CME session.
Closed-market factor
For perps on underlyings with trading hours, a plan can reduce the leverage allowed on a new position while the underlying is closed.
A payout cycle built for perps
Perps programs usually run a cycle model rather than a single evaluation target, and Nexus supports it as plan data. The balance after each payout becomes the new baseline: the next profit target is a percentage of that baseline, and the maximum loss level sits a fixed drawdown below it, trailing within the cycle and stopping at the baseline.
Withdrawable profit is the balance above the baseline, capped per payout by account size and by the trader's lifetime cap, and a payout is deducted at the request so the account never trades on money that has already been claimed. A refused payout restores the previous cycle. Every one of those figures is a field on the plan, so two programs can run different cycles on the same deployment.

How the data gets to the trader
Perps data is a separate path, designed the same way as the CME path.
- 01
Venue perpetual data, in Rust
A dedicated feed service acquires perpetual quotes, trades, mark and index prices, funding and open interest from the venues, with one primary venue per market and automatic failover to a fresh fallback.
- 02
Exact prices, never rounded
Every executable price is an exact tick of the market. An off-tick price is refused rather than rounded, so a fill is always a price the venue could have printed.
- 03
Your platform, your traders
The feed reaches your deployment server to server. Traders chart and trade from it inside Nexus Trader or Onyx without opening their own venue session, and the perps feed is never counted as CME data.
One account record, whatever the market
A perps account carries the same plan, balance, drawdown model and evaluation state as a futures account, on the same record your back office reads. Fills, positions and ledger entries land in the same journal; only the perps-specific history (funding, liquidation events, the cycle state) is kept alongside it.
That is what keeps a second market from forking your operations. The risk engine evaluates a perps rule with the same authority as a futures rule, the CRM shows the cycle figures on the account page, and a payout request follows the same review.
Common questions
- Which perpetual markets are available?
- Crypto perps are first, starting with the largest markets by volume. The catalog is built from venue listings across ten venues and classifies index, single-stock, commodity and FX perps as well, with each market enabled per deployment as venue data and licensing allow. A market is never added by ticker alone: the catalog verifies what a listing actually tracks before it can be offered.
- Can we offer perps on our Rithmic or Ironbeam accounts?
- No. Perps are Nexus Connect only. A perps account is a Nexus Connect account matched by the Nexus simulated execution engine, and Onyx trades it on that account. Firms on another data provider can add Nexus Connect for their perps program and keep their existing stack for futures.
- Do perps need a CME market-data entitlement?
- No. Perps data is venue data acquired on a separate feed, so a perps-only trader is never counted toward CME reporting and needs no CME agreement. A trader with both a futures and a perps account keeps the normal CME flow for the futures account.
- Can a trader use Onyx and TradingView for perps?
- Yes. Perps trade in both Nexus Trader and Onyx, including Onyx's TradingView interface, on the trader's own session and accounts. Leverage and margin are shown in the workspace, and the same plan rules apply whichever interface the trader opens.
- Can we try perps before committing?
- Yes, free. The [trial page](/trial) sets up a Nexus Connect perps demo account with a few details and a password you choose; you then sign in at app.onyx-trader.com, choose Nexus Demo in the firms dropdown, sign in to it with that email and password, and trade it in Onyx. No CRM, no Nexus login, no CME agreement, and it runs to the end of the month.
- How is a perps program priced?
- Perps are part of Nexus Connect and are not sold separately or with Onyx on its own. A perps trader is billed as a Nexus Connect user; there is no separate per-market charge. See [pricing](/pricing).
