Mr. Reidy was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa. He attended Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, and graduated in 1967 with a Bachelors of Science degree, majoring in Psychology. After graduation, he joined the Navy by way of Officer's Candidate School and served in the Navy until January of 1971 in duties based in Vietnam and as a Naval Diving Officer on the East Coast.
In early 1972, he joined Coldwell Banker Company, a commercial real estate brokerage company, and worked for them until 1979, at which time he helped form Nexus Development Corporation. Since that time, Mr. Reidy, in partnership with Darrell Gary, through their development company, Nexus Properties, Inc., has developed approximately 3 million square feet of suburban office, R&D, biotech, and telecommunications projects primarily on the west coast in Seattle, San Jose, and the Orange County and San Diego County areas. In 2003, Windstar Communities LLC, a Nexus Properties affiliate, was formed with the intention of developing and operating multifamily residential projects. Currently, Windstar Communities has four projects in various stages of development which when completed will consist of over 2,400 units of multifamily product for lease. Nexus Properties is in the process of finalizing entitlements for two projects in the San Diego area that will consist of approximately 225,000 square feet of office and R&D space. Nexus Properties and Windstar Communities are headquartered in San Diego. |
